That’s why our First Aid Training courses are designed to ensure you know exactly what to do when an injury or illness occurs in the workplace. During our First Aid courses, you will be equipped with the essential skills to give Emergency First Aid and be confident in your ability to assist a friend or colleague when they need it.

This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of First Aiders and providing appropriate First Aid Training.

Intended Audience

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a First Aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide First Aid in voluntary and community activities.

 

Course Overview

Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of First Aid Situations.

The learner will:

• Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider

• Be able to assess an incident

• Be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty

• Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty who is choking

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with external bleeding

• Know how provide First Aid to a casualty who is in shock

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with minor injuries

• Be able to conduct a secondary survey

• Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints

• Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with burns and scalds

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with an eye injury

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis

• Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected major illness

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of Paediatric First Aid situations, illnesses, injuries and emergencies which can arise when looking after children.

 

Intended Audience
The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a childcare setting as it is been specifically designed to fulfil Ofsted’s First Aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and childminders.

 

Course Overview
Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of Paediatric First Aid situations.
Learners will:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of the Paediatric First Aider
• Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
• Be able to provide First Aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
• Be able to provide First Aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
• Be able to provide First Aid for an infant and a child who is choking
• Be able to provide First Aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding
• Be able to provide First Aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock
• Understand how to administer First Aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries
• Be able to administer First Aid to an infant and a child with a suspected fracture
• Be able to administer First Aid to an infant and a child with head, neck or back injury
• Understand how to administer First Aid to an infant and a child with conditions affecting the eyes, ears
and nose
• Understand how to administer Emergency First Aid to an infant and a child with an acute medical condition

HSE guidelines state that employers should ensure their First Aiders remain competent to perform their role. As such, it is strongly recommended that First Aiders undertake annual refresher training to practise their skills and update their knowledge on the latest First Aid procedures.

 

Intended Audience
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Annual Refresher) qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified First Aiders to update their First Aid skills yearly, until requalification training is required.

 

Course Overview
Learners will leave with a renewed confidence having had the opportunity to practise essential First Aid procedures.
Learners will:
• Know how to assess an incident
• Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
• Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
• Manage a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
