What you need to know

It is an employer’s duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. This includes providing sufficient information, instruction and training to employees to allow them to work in a way that does not put themselves or others at risk.

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with a basic introduction to Health and Safety in the workplace, including the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.

Intended Audience

The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace has been designed for all employees working in different types of environments to help raise their awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace.

Course Overview

Learners will develop a basic knowledge of Health and Safety issues.

The learner will:

Intended Audience

Intended Audience

The Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH is ideal for all employees, and specifically those who wish to work in an environment with hazardous substances, such as: healthcare, manufacturing, cleaning, transport, utilities and office environments.

Course Overview

During this half day course, Learners will develop their understanding of the law relating to hazardous substances in the workplace and the precautions and procedures required to ensure hazardous substances are properly controlled, as well as learn how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances.

The learners will:
